Our German Shepherd Dogs
They
are members of the family & have the freedom of the property. We
usually only keep females & they must have a strong work ethic.
All
are hips & elbows x-rayed under the German
Shepherd Dog Council of Australia’s Health Scheme at 12-13
months & the readings are independently read.
We
are pleased to say that our dogs have all had excellent hip & elbow
scores over the years.
Our
dogs have reliable, lively & good-natured characters, are very alert
with solid nerves & have strong outgoing personalities.
They
are maintained in excellent health & have the good looks we like to
see in Shepherd dogs.
Our
Breeding Plan
Rittmeister
Max von Stephanitz, founder of the breed wrote with great foresight
& clarity on the owning, training & breeding of German
Shepherds:-
‘Breeding
must be done by a breed lover & cannot be a profession…breeding of
Shepherd dogs must be the breeding of working dogs …
breeding on a large scale & in a kennel is the ruin of all
sound Shepherd dog breeding……confidence in the master must be the
foundation of the relationship between man & dog……take this
trouble for me, make sure my shepherd dog remains a working dog, for I
have struggled all my life for that aim.’
We
own, train & breed our German Shepherd dogs with the philosophy of
the Captain deeply set in our minds.
We
are responsible dog owners & ethical breeders of both Shepherds
& Lagottos fully subscribing to the ANKC
Code of Conduct
& the GSDL
of New South Wales Code of Ethics.
We breed dogs not as a business but to make a positive
contribution in improving the breeds in
Australia
.
Our
plan is to breed healthy happy puppies that will be easily trained &
grow to be sound in mind & body. We want robust dogs with strong
character & that are work capable, with the correct training &
our dogs must also meet the GSDCA
Breed Standard & the ANKC
Breed Standard.
We
select stud dogs that will complement the features of our females &
our research of bloodlines & pedigrees involves much time &
energy.
We
will only use German Shepherd stud dogs that are certified under the GSDCA
Breed Improvement Schemes & meet other criteria we
believe to be critical in our selection process.
